A phenomenon in which sliding occurs in the opposite directions from the boundary of a certain surface, such as the part of paper where it is cut by scissors, or the part of a steel sheet where it is punched through by a press machine.
In injection molding, a rotating screw generates shear force by adding frictional force to resin, by which a molding material is mixed and plasticated.
Also, friction force generated when resin passes through the gate is converted to shear force, raising the temperature of the resin.
