The entrance through which molten plastics flows into the cavity of the mold from the runner. This is where the flow or melting of molten plastics is controlled. It is positioned at the thickest area of a part.
Also, the gate makes it easier for the runner, which will be unnecessary after molding, to be separated from the part.
If the gate is too small, a sink mark may be caused, whereas if it is too big, a residual distortion may be caused.
